Harmoc Elects camp 2008 + en armonia 1.5!

Hey everyone! Im back after being inactive on this blog for what seemed like months x_x!
Haha was previously very very busy juggling schoolwork (tutorials… still haven’t do sia) and harmoc farewell concert (En Armonia 1.5! haha nice name right!), and also was participating in the planning of the elections camp for harmoc! All of this ended tonight, which is really a physical and mental relieve for me, although it is really a very heartbreaking fact that we are bidding farewell to our caring and funny seniors in harmoc as they proceed on to the ultimate challenge of JC, the A-lvls.
From what I feel, it is really a VERY VERY symbolic camp + concert for our seniors, as it shows how the juniors they have been leading for the past 5 to 7 months can perform all by themselves in handling future challenges in harmoc. That’s why I can see that our harmoc members really worked very hard for it, staying back in school until very very late for concert practice, stay up in the night thinking through a lot a lot of thoughts about the camp. Given the time constraint, I believe we J1s have really done our best possible performance, although it’s certainly not perfect, but we should really just remember about the good things for things that passed (eg we survived ultra fast nan xiong nan di! Omg!!! I all of the sudden liked that song after it haha XD), while simply making a mental note at the back of our mind about what we can do better next time.
And yea, so this camp + concert really just ended today, with Gladys opening floorgates as expected. I Really Really Really Really hoped that the seniors liked it and enjoyed it.
Ok heres a brief summary of what happened today… (not really brief, but I really want to note it all down so that I will not forget this memorable day)
Camp started late @ around 7.30 and yea, it started off with the speeches made by the welfare head. Amazingly all 4 running for it was from 1st chro! (yay we really care for everyone’s welfare). Following by other posts and yea, kinda amazingly, the speeches wasn’t boring like mad, but even to an extent of being interesting and funny. The pres speeches were most prolly the most well done one, being very prepared and nicely delievered. Then they got bombarded by questions for a very very long time, and they kinda adopted a strategy to have all of them to answer together. Really interesting to see them working together like that haha XD.
Election speeches ended pretty early and actually we had prepared a movie (balls of fury… v sick name right? XD) to screen, but problem arrived. No screen to screen it… and yea in the end it became free and easy time for everyone, while the log com pple went to golden rooster to collect the 60 packets of rice. The lunch for this camp IS the BEST lunch ever I have gotten in a camp! (Three Cheers to log com for preparing such nice food!)
After that, it was free time for seniors while juniors do their last minute practice for the concert @ evening. After that then the mass dance started, or was supposed to start, but realized that the radio wasn’t loud enough… luckily PA pushed their very effective erm (the box that projects sound from a mic?) here and yea, mass dance finally started. I guess harmoc people are really very shy as everyone suddenly turned gay/les when finding a partner to dance with. As more and more people got tired, after the 10 mins break there was really few left dancing. I was suffering very badly trying to learn the girls dances as it is awkward, weird and totally new to me. But yea, luckily jeaness and jaslin broke off from their lesbian pairing to break my gay pairing with chin meng and I finally can dance like a man! (I think XD) Tio Saboed to dance infront… but really have to consider the feeling of the com pple if we were to keep rejecting right?? See we are such considerate people lor… I was pretty sure my dance was stiff and awkward and ugly x_x but heck haha, fun can le =)
Then we proceed to the station games in which the 1st one was @ amphi… where we had to blow balloons in a given time and tie it to our shoe. Then we were to step and bust the opponent team’s balloons to earn points… but smart people like us know that if balloons blow small small, sure cannot burst de, so yea, in the end both teams ended up blowing small balloons… and the fight was mainly to step off the opponent’s balloons, instead of bursting it =/ Much better this way thou cuz im really scared of balloons bursting near me T.T
2nd station was the ultra unglam station. Tio saboed AGAIN to act gay… wear gay custumes.. haiz shall not talk about such disgusting things
3rd station was certainly quite fun! We were given 5 chairs to cross over to the other side of the outside of the hall, in which I fell once and managed to travel back to the main line with only 1 chair (wriggled my way there =x) haha we managed to figure out the most efficient way of passing the chairs (to drag them and pass along the floor) but yea, still lost to the other team =( o ya, the center part where 2 teams met ah, wasn’t as interesting as expected, but yea, it’s a good things that it din turn violent
4th station was the scandals station? About jumping on balloon lobster as idiotically as possible. Haha realized wee siang cant tie his shoelace pretty fast =x. and ivy is really very funny to make fun of XD. (shes pro in tongue twister!)
5th station was the captain’s pillow station, where the most injury was inflicted on people… kim yong sprained his legs, and ber fong fell on his knees and it was really very painful for them as they cant walk very well after that. I must compliment Alvin for his superb pillow snatching skills sia. Together with ming hao as star strikers and ber fong as star defender, we won =D
Ended up that my group got 2nd placing ^^, but yea, the distribution of of prizes was not really possible… resorted to simply opening the packets of tidbits for everyone to kopt after the concert…
After games, concert started after quite a long delay! Woah, finally reached concert XD. Was really worried for our performance as we really want to show the seniors we can elites taught by them! Haha was really impressed by other section’s sectionals, being so creative and nice singing also. The nan xiong nan di was the MOST memorable for me =x. the speed was really very very fast and we managed to maintain it! Great job by everyone =D. After that I conducted happy farm, quite ok if u were to ask me, satisfied with my performance le XD. Then got the guys items and I think I dun wanna miss a thing is really a very nice song!
The feng was very nicely sang and played too, and the ending with <> really spiced up the atmosphere I believe, leading to the senior guys shouting encore and we played canon and feng zhi qui =D. Kudos to kt for being the SC in canon and wei ni for feng zhi qiu! During the concert Gladys was alrdy very emotional liao, and yea after everything, including the voting etc etc when she made her speech, yep open floodgate le lor. Haha she cried even more badly when we three cheered for her, but yea, she really deserves the three cheers bah =D.
After dismissing, some 1st chro stayed back for ULTRA LAME riddle guessing? Those games like black magic kind that requires low intelligence to play de lor. Zpin’s one was really so easy that I was thinking, huh? Really meh so easy omg. About the long string and short string.
Sadly all fun times have to end.. and we took several pictures before walking to the main gate, where ren’a parent fetched her and everyone else walked the side gate. The walk was filled with crappy dialogs like how starry the sky was and how close is the 7th month from now le (3 weeks right? From kt) O ya, I shall kope from kung yin’s blog when he post the pictures bah =)
Haha, and yea, everyone was tried, after walking out, those who wanted to eat went to eat, and those who are dying of exhaustion went home x.x. Ha, finally finished blogging about today =D
Haha, today was really memorable! I dunnoe what to say but yea, its abit of happy but yet unwilling that today finally finished. Haha o well, I guess it’s about time to rest well and slp!
